More QR Codes

This should give you an idea of just how ubiquitous QR Codes have become in Japan. Not only do people have their URL and vCard QR Code printed on their business cards, they also buy personalised QR Code stamps and attach them to their phones so they can stamp their QR Codes.

The site is in Japanese, but you can get the general idea.

in Japan this week I noticed a QR code on my receipt at AMPM, a convenience store chain. Following the QR Code sent an email, which returned a survey which, when filled out, is redeemable for prizes. Indeed, QR codes are making it easy to tie together the mobile world into offline media for some creative uses... and all that's needed is the ability to print in black and white.

That is amazing. I wonder if there needs to be some kind of sync component for this technology to take off in the US Market. Somthing that would allow me via bluetooth or USB to sync a QR code over to my PC. The web/WAP on the phones is such a less important way of getting information in the US because of the ubiquity of PC's.
