Wow
The article in the Seattle Times yesterday really generated a lot of interest in what Mobile Research is doing. Lot's of phone calls and emails. I've got some great feedback from potential customers regarding what types of data they are looking for and how they want to use it. Very enlightening and it is really helping me develop our ongoing product path. The almost unanimous request seems to be for data from the European market. Looks like we'll be heading to Europe this summer to profile a lot of phones and carriers. Tough job, but someone has to do it. Actually it is going to be a LOT of difficult work to purchase and profile all those devices in a foriegn country quickly.

Am in the music business and am wondering if MP3 porting to all of the different platforms for ring masters is at the complexity level of games?

Yeah... summer in Nice... I could see why it would take a while.

"Masters" mp3 ringtones aren't so much a problem as polyphonic ringtones. If the device supports them your issues are really only media type and size. Most devices don't support "true tones" or real sound files (MP3) of master recordings yet. Most if not all of the higher end phones do though and that is definitely the direction the devices are going in.

Ok, the article about Mobile Research caught my attention. What kinds of individuals are you going to be hiring??? I have interest in the customer service side of the wireless industry.

Hello,
just found your blog and the the Mobile Research seams really interesting.
I develope mobile application using Flash Lite which is in a pretty early stage here in US and Europe, but in Japan accounts for 30% of mobile market. So, I guess that you will have to deal with Flash Lite pretty soon ! My blog is at http://www.biskero.org and my project is at http://www.biskero.com
Thanks
